Obituary of Mathew Murphy

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, baby brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Mathew Henry Murphy, at the age of 50 years old. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Pauline Murphy (nee DeGagne) and father the late Clare F. Murphy; his children, Alexandra and Steven, their mother Nathalie Carbonneau, and his siblings, Melinda (Jean) Chartrand, Michael (Terri) Murphy and Melissa (Marcel) St. Onge.

We truly ask for everyone’s love, support and understanding through this devastating chapter in all our lives. We want Matt to be remembered for his infectious smile and heartfelt laugh, his outstanding personality, his gift of gab and blarney with everyone and anyone who wanted to listen; and to be heard. His love for life was a joy to be around. He will be embraced in all our lives and embedded in our hearts forever. “When the sun is shining, we will know the peace within you is bright above all of us always and forever. We love and miss you Matt”.

We all know that Matt liked things simple. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Paroisse Immaculée Conception, 99 Garnet St., St. Catharines, from 10 - 11:30 am  on Friday, April 9, 2021. Due to COVID-19 attendance procedures, we are limited to 40 people at a time during the visitation or the funeral.
