I was lucky enough to know Heather while we studied together at Brock University! We had the majority of our classes together and I remember being in awe of Heather when I first met her. I was a timid 17 year old and Heather made me feel like we'd known each other for years instantly! She was such a strong force of light, and he personality and laugh filled the room!
Heather always did what she could to make you feel loved, heard, and appreciated. I feel so lucky that I was able to know Heather and it broke my heart to hear of her passing.
She was so loved and will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege to know her.

Tracey I am so very sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. My daughters Melissa and julia went to school with her and were very heart broken when they heard the news. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through but just know you have alot of love around you for support. As a mother i can't imagine losing a child and at such at a young age. When I heard the news today my first thought was that this couldn’t be true. How could someone brimming with so much life be gone so soon…
I met Heather in Junior Kindergarten, and had the good fortune of living around the block from her. So her childhood home was a place of many of my early memories.
I was thinking of her the other day actually...not even an ounce of a lie. A Spice Girls song came on the radio and it took me back to her sunny living room on Glen Park. I pictured us watching Much Music as their hit “Say You’ll Be There” played on the screen, and we were just giggling relentlessly for whatever reason.
We watched movies like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in her den. Rolled around in her Barbie Jeep in the basement. Visited Lauren across the street. Had sleep overs. Ate kraft dinner. Did crafts after dinner.
Heather was so much fun. She was such an energetic individual. She laughed, she sang, she danced.
Eventually she’d move to a different grade school, but we kept in touch until our early teens hanging out and taking dance classes. She was the most spectacular dancer. I think it was the last year that I myself took dancing that she did a solo (or maybe a duet…I only remember her on the stage) to Diamonds are a girls best friend, the version from Moulin Rouge. Boy, was she ever in her element in that moment. Spinning like a top. Flying across the stage. It would have got any crowd going.
Just like her presence on stage, she was a real presence of a person. I will always remember her fun loving energy, her kindness, and beautiful smile. I am so happy to have known her.

I will never forget when we met at the Springs Awakening auditions. You introduced yourself as 'Olga' and I believed you. When I found out it was prank, I knew I liked you. You were always so pleasant to see, and I remember being so relieved to see you in different classes. Whether it was reviewing theatre, singing together, or just gushing about Cardcaptor Sakura they are all memories I cherish.
