I have had a few days of reflecting back on my childhood days growing up on the farm,with my brother, over 60 years ago.
Many sweet memories came to mind, and all the freedom we had to be ourselves to explore nature at its best.
We did crazy things together that would create sheer terror in a mothers' heart.
Dennis and I shared some of these, pleasures I should say,Like running on a barn roof from one end to the other,Sliding into a silo 2/3 rds filled with silage, and riding on the backs of the cows while they were let out to pasture,These were just some of the things done in our playtime ,or excitement.
Also our lives were filled with lots of work,but Denniis and I made this work fun,like a game .
Every Saturday we had to clean the pig pen that was about 30 x 15 feet,and we did it in our bare feet.How refreshing that was ?
Our lives took a very different path at an early age.I moved to Kitchener Waterloo,There I got married and lo and behold my dear brother had decided to attend Bible Collage in Kitchener
I took on the responsability to do his laundry when it needed to be done,which consisted of 21 white shirts to wash and iron every couple of weeks.
While attending bible Collage Dennis met this beautiful young lady named Sandra,They soon married ,so I turned the responsability over to Sandra and the iron to complete this job for many years..
My greatest pleasure was to watch them grow in their faith together with the Lord ,and have a family and go to be missinaries in Quito Equador for 5 years.
Upon their return after 5 years they continued serving the Lord ,and helping other and praying for them.
I had some quiet time in the recent 2 months to sit with Dennis and reminisce ..
While at his bedside as he lay waiting for His heavenly entry, there appeared a halo like ora over his head and upper chest..
I was reminded of the promises of God as it says in Pslam 91: 11 -12..
For he will command His Angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways, On their hand they will bear you up.......This gave me the assurance that the Angels were waiting to take Dennis to his eternal resting place..Also in Exodus 23:20 ..It says ,I am sending you an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and bring you to the place I have prepared..
I will miss Dennis ,but I know he is were God wants him to be .
